Text Box: The Indian Pentecostal Church of God had its origin in 1924 in the erstwhile Travancore State, South India, and God chose the late Pastor K. E. Abraham as the founder of the IPC. From a humble beginning, the work spread to all the states of India and to countries outside India. Now, there are over 4,500 local churches in this fellowship including all the states of India, Arabian Gulf countries, U.S.A., Canada, U.K. and Australia. Not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

Pastors K.E. Abraham, P.M. Samuel, K.C. Cherian, and P.T. Chacko were the pioneer IPC leaders to visit the U.S.A. in the 1940s. Pastors P.J. Thomas and T.S. Abraham and Bros. T.V. Thomas and A.K. John were the first students from IPC to go to the U.S.A. for higher studies in the early 1950s.

By the latter half of 1960s and the early 1970s, several young brothers went as students and young sisters got employed as nurses in the U.S.A. All these young people stood firm for the Pentecostal truth and small groups of worship were started in different places and thus the Indian Pentecostal Churches were established. Men of God like Pastors A. C. George, K.V. Kurian, Oommen Abraham and M.S. Samuel may be regarded as the pioneers of the IPC work in the U.S.A. Thank God for these and other servants of God who have labored for the Lord.

The fellowship of IPC churches in the eastern region of North America was formed on May 12, 1991, under the leadership of Pastor A. C. George, our first president. Ten churches from New York and New Jersey along with a few hundred believers formed the initial membership of this fellowship. Today, we have over thirty churches and thousands of members across the northeastern region of the United States.

Over the past years, this fellowship has flourished under the leadership of Pastors A.C. George, Mathew Samuel, K.V. Kurian, John C. Daniel, K.V. Abraham, Thomas V. Koshy, P. Philip, Anthony Rocky, T.C. Mathew, Sunny Philip, and Joseph Williams. Brothers M.A. George, Varghese Pinekulam, George Kuruvilla, George Varghese, C.O. Abraham, Joy K. Samuel, Kunjumon Samuel, Mathai M. Alummoottil, Varghese Philip and Michel Johnson also have been pillars of this fellowship.
