New York Pentecostal Church was formed in 1979, under the spiritual leadership of the late Pastor John C. Daniel and then-trustees Bros. George K. Thomas, T.M. Varghese and Abraham Samuel. The church was registered as a non-profit organization on February 24, 1980. Initially, the church assembled at 224 E. 47th St., New York, and at the United Nations Organization School at 2450 FDR Dr., New York. The congregation used the UN school for worship services and other spiritual activities until 1994, and from 1994 to 1998, worship services were held at Quality Hotel in Astoria, Queens, New York. In 1998 the congregation moved to Elmont, New York, holding worship services and special events at 60 Hill Ave., Elmont, New York.

Our church’s longtime minister Pastor John C. Daniel, who was ordained on December 15, 1968, by the late Pastor K.E. Abraham, was the president and pastor of the church. In 1997, Bethel Pentecostal Church led by Pastor Charles Abraham merged with New York Pentecostal Church. Pastor Abraham continued to minister along with Pastor John C. Daniel until the beginning of 2001. In October 2001, Pastor Juby Daniel was appointed as assistant pastor. On August 5, 2002, Pastor John C. Daniel was called to eternal rest and since then Pastor Juby Daniel has been serving as president and pastor. Pastor George Varghese succeeded Pastor Juby Daniel as the pastor and when Pastor George Varghese completed his term in 2013 Rev. K.C. Paul was appointed as new pastor.
